He Creates tension by saying ‘Endless hanging would
soon be over.’ Meaning he Though he was going to die.
He Starts asking Repetitive questions 'Like How
long will you be Simon? I thought. How long before you join me?' So this make us think that he is scared .
'The torch beam died. The cold had killed the batteries. I
saw stars in a dark gap above me. The storm was over. I was glad to see them again.' This makes us think that he is relived that it is over.
The author creates
tension by saying 'There was no need for the torture.' This creates
tension by showing he is Scared and wants it to stop.
